So I have had my 2011 Tacoma for a month now and have only been on the highway a few times and each time I have noticed some noise at highway speeds that seem like its coming from the hood scoop. Today it was especially bad because there was huge cross winds and I shot a video in hopes that someone can confirm this or has a solution.

Please excuse the bad video its more for audio than anything.

Could be a bad seal around the windshield.

I remember our trucks having this problem a like 2 years ago. I thought they would have fixed it by now.

Yeah I guess the only reason i was assuming the scoop was because it was the only difference between my new truck and my 09

Best way to rule out the windshield, is to take some electrical tape, and run it along the edge of the rubber moulding, and the gless, and see if the noise goes away.

my 07 made the same noise, twas the seal on the windshield. I could change the tone of the sound by pressing on the top of the windshield near the rear view mirror.

I had the same problem. I wasted a ton of time trying to find the answer and never looked at the windshield until I broke it and had it replaced. :D

When they replaced it did it fix the issue? I got glass coverage and had a bad day at work, could take out aggression on the glass to get it fixed.

Lol, It fixed the problem entirely but the noise was caused by the previous owner breaking the windshield and the installer pinched the seal on the lower passenger side. It's not the windshields fault but if smashing it helps you work out some aggression, grab a hammer!

The engine tick, windshield kazoo noise and leaf spring squeek are all normal noises for are trucks. If you don't hear these noises get to the dealer asap.

Engine tick is something I'd wish they'd fix forever. I hate that noise and always makes me think I need to go in there and adjust the valves like I do with my Honda when it sounds like that.
