So I'm assuming I don't need the E rating tire for a tacoma...C should work fine?

Dude the E rating is weight, D-E . Most tires are 3000 lbs to 4000 lbs hope it helps. I would go with a 265/75/16- 265/70/17, or the the same size tire for what ever wheel/rim's you have. If you have a lift you can go bigger but you have to cut. Use the tire tool and fig. it out. The hard part is what tire do you want. I hope this helps. One more thing what web sites have listed and what you get may be dif. So like me have them roll them out than make your decision. Just my 2.

    Understand it just fine...

So with a 285/70/17 Tire the UCA is the point that rubs? Does a spacer fix this? Is it the same on a 2012 Tacoma as previous years as far as front end design (minus front bumper of course)?

Does a 265/70/17 Tire look like a big upgrade in comparison? It just seems like a 285/70/17 would look alot better than a 265/70/17...not to mention better capabilities on and off road no? Obviously a little less fuel economy due to the increased rolling weight and inherent offroad tread design. If I can make it work with little to no modifications I would like to fit a 285/70/17 on oem suspension however if a 265/70/17 is the end all beat all perfect upgrade for an oem suspension TRD Sport Tacoma...then let it be.

I see that a couple people put BFG MT's on in a 285/70/17 variety and I would think the A/T's would be a bit less prone to rubbing due to the tread design.

Anyone running 285's or have run 285's care to input?

NVM I'll just run the 265/70/17's...do you guys run C or E load range? C would be my pick just making sure.

Stick on hood scoop from Autozone.
The only way to run 285s is to get a lift, and even then you'll probably end up having to trim your fenders.

Nope, biggest wheel we Canucks get is 17". We don't get Entune either.
