Have done search on tires and it seems that everyone is going with larger size tires. I would like any
information on going to a taller, skinny tire? Anybody gone that way? Something that is not going to really change the speedo, same height as stock, but skinnier. Currently running 265-65-17 and time for a change.

Rear leaf suspension. Home done tailgate re-inforcement.
Fuel mileage may increase a bit and so should wet traction. Braking and overall traction on dry pavement my decrease a bit also.

I had 245/75/16s on my prerunner when I got it. Didn't like. The 265/70/16s on it now are much better ride, handles better & mpg/speedo unchanged. Since you seem to be headed other way I might suggest a 245 or 255/70/17. Whichever keeps you closer to same OD as the 265s you have now. Check sizes on a tire size calculator to see like this....

245/70/17 seems to be closest to not changing speedo....

If you're doing this for milage, just fyi, I went from the 245/75-16 to a 265/70-16 and saw no milage gain or loss. Also wet and dry traction went up, and, IMHO, ride was better.

245/75R17 is a little taller and an inch narrower but you may have trouble finding tires that aren't D or E rated. 245/70R17 is the same height and an inch narrower.
