Can you mix All terrain tires and all seasons

I earlier posted my dilemma about winter coming and having 6/32 tread on front tires and 4/32 tires on the back set. Currently running Bridgestone Dueler H/T 684 II's OEM's. I was able to find a supposedly 1 year old pair of used Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo's with 9/32 tread remaining for $140 installed and balanced.

I was thinking of putting the Revo's on the back as replacement for the 4/32 H/T 684's and leaving the front 6/32 pair on for the winter.

Does the forum think this combo will work fine or is there a safety hazard mixing the 684 II's highway all seasons on the front and all terrain Revo's on the back?

 

As long as they're the same wear status left-to-right it otter be OK. However if the diameter of the tires front-to-back is sufficiently different, it'll confuse the ABS system and throw a code, and disable ABS.

 

I wouldn't think it would be a safety hazard but alot of car poeple run mix matched tires.

 

I ran mixed tires on my 94 toy pickup for 200k miles without an issue...I ran Michelin X-One tires on the front year round and putting a set of six ply traction tires on for the winter, in the P205/70R14 size

 

You should be fine, just don't don't rotate them....
