    My favorite is when someone says they install a CAI and the damn thing is still inside the engine compartment. Just because it has a chrome tube and a cone filter does not mean it is a CAI. To be a CAI it must be outside the engine compartment. A lot of companies route theirs into the front bumper. I can see the point it you are going to put it on a vehicle with a turbo/supercharger and exhaust. Other than that, kinda pointless, IMO.

    The cat needs oxygen in order to oxidize properly. That pump pumps air into the catalytic converter to:
    1. Heat it up faster so that it can do its job
    2. Pumps air into the chamber so that it can turn HC into H2O and CO into CO2
