    The compressor is rated 3.5 amps that is the start up current. Amazon does not do a good job of listing all the specs. If it's run current was 3.5 amps your inverter would not handle it for very long with out a fair amount of smoke.

    Thanks for bringing this nice little compressor to our attention BIBORADO. I just ordered one from Amazon also.Would not have known about this had you not told us.I may never use it in my truck but it will be handy in my mower shed.I have never used the outlet in my truck yet. :) :)

    Picked up one of those Porter-Cable C1010 air compressors from Amazon. Awsome little unit. Hooked it up to outlet in back of the bed.....worked like a charm.Also once tank is full its a great little portable unit too........air tires up etc. Nothing major as tank is only 1 gallon.Thanks Biborado for sharing that info with all of us.

    Just got one as well as a gift, works awesome! Have not plugged it in the bed yet, but I did use it already to put air in my tires. It's very quiet and heavy duty.

    ARB front locker, alpine nav, image dynamics i5800, Polk audio front rear and subs, TOYTEC 3 inch coilovers wiht AAL, awesomest driver ever!
    That is awesome! I tried to use my ARB compressor for the front diff to air up tires and it took about 25 minutes. that thing works great for locking out an air locker but when it comes to airing up tires i think your porter cable is the way to go! ordering now!

    I bought the Dewalt from Home Depot so I could return/warranty easier if needed. They matched Amazon's 125$ price and shipped free in 3 days.

    Got home tonight to try it out and saw that I actually don't have an outlet (19' SR). Looks like I'm going to go with a Smittybuilt or Viair under the hood.

    Question for you guys. I saw a Jeep friend (I know I know) that has a small compressor that mounted underneath the driver’s seat on his ride. Had the air Chuck that stuck out towards the door. Really clean install, is there anything similar to this for the Tacoma? Or even a quality remote mount compressor that wouldn’t be riding around in the bed?

    I don’t do any wheeling or anything like that, but I work on planes and could use some air from time to time whether it be for tires or something else.

    Never seen it under the seat. I like when the guys run a battery line to a compressor in one of the cubbies in the bed. That is what I would do.
