    Anyone else have this issue?

    Started happening 2 years ago... I have a 2005 taco 4 door v6

I went to the dealership,, they replaced the two door locks under manufacturers warranty....

    But the problem has returned..

This time its one back door that wont work correctly.

It was my understanding that if work is done under warranty that if the work was not performed correctly, or the parts failed, it would be replaced. Especially something like a door lock, which is not something that is usually abused..

Apparently toyota only gives you 1 year on warranty for parts..

    Bullshit..

Toyota is using shitty ass locks in their trucks whoever the part supplier is.

So long story short, now i have one bum door.

Anyone else have this issue? Im thinking it is a widespread issue....

I have a 2006 4-door and my locks have failed one at a time over the past 8 or 9 months.
Now the passenger door is the only one that locks sometimes, but I can't count on it.

$87 bucks for each lock cylinder + ~100 bucks to re key each one to your ignition key...

    That's Canadian dealership price though...

My passenger side just died on my 2009. 1600mi out of warranty. And my driver side went right before I was out of warranty. No way to DIY? I have the part # for the drivers side. Not sure if they are universal. Checked the FSM quickly, not really any real info.

You can get the lock cylinder from the dealership and send it out yourself to be rekeyed

So it has to be rekeyed? Not just a swap out? Man thats rough.

Wait, my door opens with the key. If seems the actuator died. Having it rekeyed seems a bit much.

No worries. Thanks anyways. I thought that seemed strange for just the actuator.

Just started happening to me with my 2007 but my passenger rear door doesn't always unlock using the fob or the auto lock button. If I unlock it twice, it will usually unlock the second or third time but I've found it easier to just reach back and hit it manually.
