yes especially California, its driven by weather and onshore flow, it is thought that it will keep smog levels down in the inland valley areas and along the coast.

although its more of a money making scheme.

Wow, I know the whole winter blend fuel deal but gas mileage sucks for such a light truck. I'll post this in another thread but I just got rid of my 2010 Tacoma Sport to a Ecoboost f150. So far so good. Average 18-19 in city and 21 on interstate out of 365hp + 420 ft lbs twin turbo V-6.

I know I almost always lose in the mileage race with a friend's ecoboost on a trip. He'll beat me by about 2 mpg every time. I can only win on tank averages when we're not driving together because I seem to have a lot more patience than him.

As for today's run on winter blend gas, it's 36º out, loaded down with about 600# of cargo, and I got it up to 21.2 mpg. That was HARD to do. For the first ten miles after it cools off you'd think there was molasses in the differential for as far down as the instantaneous mileage goes on flat ground.

Didn't really seem like anyone was griping about the cost, so much as wondering what happened. Always good to keep up with this stuff so you know if there's a problem with your truck. :) Besides, just because I can afford the gas for a truck doesn't mean I want to pay more than I have to.
