Considering switching to synthetic at 55k

So a bit nervous, but was considering switching to full synthetic at 55k, previous owner did routine maintenance at the dealer but standard stuff, a bit nervous though as Ive hear when some people switch there being issues such as leaks and what not, but I know synthetic will protect the engine for a much longer time and is much better, just nervous. Whats your guy's opinion? Recommendations of oil brand if switching?

I did it from the day I got her at 28000, no issues whatsoever, just do it. I want this engine to last a very long time.

 

Royal purple every 5k is what I plan on doing.

 

I might hesitate if it were at 550,000 miles, but at 55,000 miles no hesitation at all.

 

Gonna switch, last question I read on ToyotaNation doing a 1 quart synthetic with the convential at first then moving to full synthetic to help with sludge or something along those lines? Is that a better approach or necessary, or can I just switch straight to the M1?

 

i went to mobil one at like 45 or 50 when i switch to synthetic .

 

I am at 45k and am gonna switch at my next change. Everyone i talk to says theres no issue.

 

I dont think modern engines/oils have any issues. Back in the day switching could cause leaks, but I believe that is a thing of the past.

 

No issue... I done the swap on my 2007 at 43 k. Im waiting till my free oil changes run out on my 2011.
