hey everyone, i have been on a mission to get the most out of this 4.0 engine and was thinking of doing headers and a camshaft, but i am not sure about either one and just wanted some input from you guys. I have to do the short tube headers cause thats what you are allowed to do in cali. I got the air aid cai and the flowmaster 40 series so far. I would like all suggestions good or bad just wanted to get everyones opinion, thanks everyone!

if u have no mods the maf will give u 15 hp more than the stock engine, so with ur intake itll really bring it together once u tune it... yes i have short tube headers... the only reason i suggested the x-1 cuz u asked bout camshafts and the x-1 lets u adjust the cam timing

no worries man :D i really like the headers, i think its better for the N/A engine, but alot of people will argue that... i had a reputable shop port them out and welded them to the cats... it really brought the tone deeper, i love the pulsing sound it makes when im goin slow

Cams just now being released for the 4.0L 1GR. You can find more information here.

I have been running the X-1 almost since it came out. The best performance mod I've done behind the supercharger.

I have put down higher trap speeds and 1/4 ET times then any XR (as of now, and to the best of my knowledge). And that's not to say that there aren't faster XRs out there, there is always somebody faster. I have seen trucks with my same mods plus more (minus the X-1) run almost 3-6mph slower in the 1/4.

So hands down, one of the best performance mods you can do.
