OBD2" memory saver" box, anyone used one??

thinkin of gettin one of these to use for when i do my electrical mods on my 2012 since i had to have the dealer turn off the seatbelt alarm thru the computer, it will save the ecm settings while the battery is unhooked...i just wondered if these did work like that and were worth it?

Seems like major overkill. I think most folks use something like this:

how would that work though with how our trucks power outlets dont work unless the keys turned on??

 

why not? if it works it saves me $45 each time i have to disconnect the battery and goin to dealer to get them to hookup to turn off my seatbelt alarm again........

 

turn the key on plug in the adapter then disconnect power maybe? not sure here
