help with serpatine belt

08 tacoma trd sport, stock for right now!!!

On our belts there are two different sides a smooth side faceing up towards the engine/hood and a ridge side faceping down towards were a skid plate would be.

I noticed on the smooth side it seems that it now has ridges....what could cause this, I don't have a picture as I'm on my phone and it won't let me upload one any advice would be appricated.

I would give all the pullys it rides through a good look to see why that side appears freyed. Doesn't sound mormal to me????
