    Depends on what you want. 'Best' is kind of ambiguous. For lights mounted that high, I'd say you're better off with a driving, spot or all-terrain pattern (avoid a fog pattern). Hella's converted to HID will be bright, but unless you can turn them on and leave them on for any length of time, the HID's might not be a good idea. For example, I've got a set of PIAA 520 driving lights that only come on with my high beams so they can spend a lot of time being switched on and off. The HID ballasts won't last long if you have them wired up that way.

    If it's just for looks I'd get the Hella 500s. They're fairly bright and at only $70 for a set they're good quality.

    However, if you can afford a little more a 7" light would probably look better.

    Good to know. I would like to hook mine up on a seperate switch so I can turn them on with any configuration (by themselves, with fogs, with brights, etc.) I want something pretty bright, but I'm not looking to "burn peoples retinas or anything...

    A lttle pricey for my blood. I think I'll mount the Hella 700kk and run them stock for a while. If I feel like I want them brighter I'll try the HID conversion. Still unsure about the HID though... Don't know if I like the fact that they have to warm up.

    Warm up on HIDs is like 5 seconds. Not long at all, and the output is well worth the wait! ;)

    x2, it's not like you'll be waiting for any real length of time. If it's cold, you'll notice they'll keep getting brighter for the first 30 seconds or so.
