Ive been making quite a few calls lately and none of them seem to want to budge below 30k OTD for a new 2011 DC OR 4x4 , is that the going price now days? Ive even started looking at used vehicles hoping to get the price a bit lower and thats not going all to well , most dealers are trying to hammer me with used tacomas at a new tacoma price. What would you guys consider a fair offer for these 2 tacomas? (OTD price preferred)

(Prices are coming from San Diego CA)

    Tacoma 1

    Tacoma 2

Any help would be much appreciated

I would get internet quotes and/or go in to the dealerships. If somebody calls in price checking it would be hard to put out serious numbers. 30k OTD even on an '11 model is still pretty low considering dealer cost.

No money, all went to truck...
The second truck says it has BOTH offroad AND sport package. Haha

Here in Hawaii tacomas run a bit higher than the mainland. Location and demand.

I paid 32000 OTD for my 2012 DCSB OR 4x4 manual. Seems higher than others on the mainland but I guess that's the cost of Hawaii.

I was in the same situtaion with the used ones. They wanted 28000-30000 for 1-2 year old tacomas with 10000 up to 50000 miles on it. I figured I might as well just kick in a few thousand and get a new one.

They had killer deals on new 2011 prerunners. 25000 sports at LOW financing. Too bad I wanted manual!!

I work at a Acura dealer, but like every other dealership in the nation, the internet price, from the internet/fleet department, is always going to be the best.
When I help people buy cars, I have them email every dealership in the area on what they are looking for, and get their "best" OTD price (the "fees" at every dealer are different so if you go with OTD you know, to the penny, what you are going to have to pay). Then after they get quotes back from each one, take the lowest amount that you received, and email that amount back to every dealer again and see if they can do "better". Some may, others may not, but that will get you the "best price".

$32 OTD for a 2012 OR is a great price actually! Look around the internet for pricing on that in Socal and you'll find they range from $33-$37! And that's pre tax, fees, ect....

I'd start with Truecar pricing, that will give you a starting point in your negotiations and the names of few dealers in your area willing to deal. I think you will better price wise with the Internet manager from each dealership rather than a phone/floor salesperson. Good luck..

Got mine for $32K out the door, 2012 DCSB Offroad. Counting myself lucky, as they also gave me 3500 over the payoff for my trade. :)

that second one's listing has some major issues! lol I love incompetent salesmen. They'll tell you anything to sell you something.

I had a friend buy a nissan altima through costco. He got a super good deal and even picked it up and had it ready for him. I think he saved $2000 over the best dealer price. No hassles either.

Since you are in the Army, you can join USAA if you're not already a member. They have a car buying service and that's how we got our Honda and Tacoma. Thanks for you service.

That's what I paid for my 2011 double cab Pre-Runner, with TRD Off-road. It's low, but it can happen.

As for internet numbers, they are all bullshit. I went in with print outs of quotes of trucks they were showing online, but didn't even have them in stock when I went there. Just go in so you can haggle them.

That's what I was using to get quotes online and when I went in, they didn't have the trucks they were listing on truecar.com. That site is a scam.

As others have suggested, try emailing most of the dealers in the area. Different truck, but I paid like 28.5k out the door for my 09 Sport 4x4 access cab when I got it new in 2009. Probably could have did better But I was happy. After taxes and everything I was hoping to come out at or below MSRP and I did that.
