Why I love Costa Rica

Just got back from Costa Rica on a 10 day surf trip.

Made me realize how much I would love to have a turbo-diesel HiLux pickup truck. Saw many around town.
Never got to drive one unfortunately.

Apparently the D-4D diesel engine has great torque and still gets 30 mpg.

unfortunately the import duties and taxations are outrageous. Plus, these vehicles aren't setup to adhere to the strict BIN 5 Tier 2 emissions regulations that the US is implementing for diesel engines.

Give them 2 more years. Toyota is making hints that a D4D Tacoma and Tundra are on the way.
