Unhappy Can't find 4 prong conection for towing

Help!!! I have a 2011 DC TRD Sport with the tow package, I haven't needed to tow anything till this up comming weekend but I only see the round prong and I don't see the 4 prong connection, I thought the truck was suppose to have it or is hiding somewhere under the bumper? On my brothers tundra both the connections are side by side

I think the tacomas only come with the round seven pin. You can get an adapter at your local auto parts store.

I kid you not, this is an "optional accessory" that has to be purchased. My Tacoma had this listed on the window sticker as an optional accessory along with the fake skid plate, bug deflector, and other nonsense. Ironically, the 4-pin adapter was missing, and I still had to go buy one!

Mine came with a bag in the glove box containing the wires for trailer brakes. I had the 7 pin adaptor thrown in when making the purchase (paperwork said it was included but wasn't in truck.)

edit...any automotive, trailer, or boating supply store should have them.

I don't follow
This is only for trucks with the backup camera.

When you take off the tailgate, you have to unplug the camera cord, and they provide a blank plug so the truck end of the cord doesn't get gummed full of crap when you don't have a tailgate.

no wires on mine. I only put the hitch on for recovery purposes and as a "texting while driving deterrent" to those behind me

Seems to be common that the adapter that supposedly comes as part of the tow package isn't included. There were some wires included in the glove box but the package insert with them said something about the tailgate camera, and I just put them behind the back seat and haven't thought of them since.

Anyway... yeah. The 7-to-4 connector I bought was about $20 at Tractor Supply.

Yup not sure why our tundra and 4 runner have both connections on the same. Racket but the Tacoma only has the round 7.
