Santa Came Early...

Happened across MetalTech's ad for an ARB Bumper - winch mount w/fogs...

Called Brandon yesterday - it was still in the shop - $950. Not bad.

Did a turn and burn trip down to Portland; about a 4 hr. drive each way. Parking lot full of SAS's, SOAs, crawlers, FJs (40s/60s/FJCs), Tacomas...money is no object!

A customer placed an order for the bumper, and never came through to pick it up - hence the "blow out" price. Brandon couldn't have been any nicer - great guy to do business with. Threw in an ARB 24k snatch price at wholesale ($50) too! Highly recommend Metaltech!

Got home at 2100, bumper was installed by 2330. Not hard at all - was weary of doing it myself - much, much easier than I anticipated. This is some pretty heavily-built hardware, especially after taking off the stock bumper "skin".

Waiting until tomorrow to get final gaps true along the fender line; wiring for turn signals and hazards also. It's late - I'm having my FIRST beer...don't want to start making magic smoke at this hour. Not too keen on using the Scotch Connectors that the installation sheet recommends. I prefer shrink wrap.

He's a trooper - made the road trip with me today. I'm amazed by how much he can sleep. 8hrs curled up on the passenger seat, now he's laying next to me on the couch. Must be nice.

Sucks - have to give him up due to moving. Can't bring him with me up to Kodiak. My sister's going to take him; I know he'll have a good home.

 

yeah, my pug only wakes up to eat...shits on his sleep. hm. that sucks, can't imagine life without my dog, i'd be lost.
