Softopper actually makes a rack to go over their topper for $389. Although if you're not local to the Boulder, CO area, it might be expensive to get it shipped.

Nice... Any website? or picture, that would be interesting. I know they are the same company as Can Bak but they stop production for some reason..

The softopper rack fits over and around the softopper. I'm sure it works fine, but it's kinda... not impressive looking. The Can-back looked better, but is way more expensive.

I just bought an RTT today. I'm going to build a rack similar to this to mount it on. My big idea is to make canvas topper to fit it, with a rack system similar to the Canback one for the RTT and some other gear. We'll see how it goes - it's been a long time since I did any fabricating and this is fairly ambitious.

Some people like it, some don't... Right now, I'm keeping it because that option is still way ahead in the poll.:D

I don't think Can Bak and Softopper are the same company. Softopper is based out of Boulder, CO and they are still making their toppers. I just helped a buddy of mine install on on his F-150, and I was pretty impressed with it. I'd buy one if I had the funds right now. They also make some other cool products, including the rack I mentioned earlier, and some pretty creative bike rack attachments that mount to the side of the bed. I think Monkey Boy posted a link to their website... check them out!

And by the way, I'll be following this thread closely. If you put some sides on your topper and post a detailed how-to, I think I'll have to play copy-cat.

Maybe they are different company. But they use the same toll ree number though. I called can-bak before but they said they won't be making any until mid next year and what they have in the market for now is Softopper that's why I assume they are the same company. Anyway, as soon as I have all the materials needed, I'll make the sides and post it so I can get some input from TacomaWorld dudes. See if it's for keep or not. Then I'll make a thread on how-to.... Thanks..
