Man I totally agree, if you can't afford the vehicle then you should'nt have it. But there are a bunch of guys who didn't have the options that some of the younger members had and when we, or I see see these posts of people who get a truck for free and complain that it isn't good enough or the truck they "really wanted" then it makes me ant to say what the hell?? I am not bashing anyone but be happy with what your parents are able to give you ,especially right now in our present economic state.

Ummm, get BETTER grades and hit Mom and Dad up for mods. Also explain that without mods you may turn to drugs and alcohol. When I was your age I funded my hobbies with prostitution, so that's another route to consider.

To be honest this goes back to a post from a former member who was also under 20 years old and didn't like his tacoma but his parents bought him a new hummer. We didn't feel sorry for him either.

Focus on school and enjoy baseball for all it's worth! Believe me five years from now you will look back and wish you had simply been content with what you had.

I miss the days of having a 5K dollar truck to drive to school every day and no responsibility other than good grades and track practice.:)

When I was 16 I drove a Schwinn or my mom's Volare. You have a nice ride. Our trucks are pretty sweet right out of the box!

I'll have to dig. I know I have some pictures from "old fashioned" cameras I can maybe find. I know for sure I have a graduation pic at my grandmas with the beast in the background.

    We named it "The Dieselator"

haha!! Epic thread in the making!! When I was 16 i walked or pedaled my POS Huffy. When I was 18 I got my first car that I had paid for from my shitty job at Papa Johns. It was back in 2000 and the car was a 1989 Ford Escort. So just be happy you can share the joys and awesomeness of that bad ass free truck you have and stay in school and one day you will have a awesome truck... if you take care of it :)

I got my taco at 15... don't worry. Just don't get snobby about it ! You might piss off a few people at and outside of school lol. It's a great truck and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Don't jump the gun and just start modding the crap out of your truck. I waited till I got a decent paying job and then the mods began, and even then, my mods weren't major. For now be glad you have a good, working truck. If your parents are paying for your insurance and gas, be even more thankful. Oh and be careful if you plan to off-road, I know when I first started driving I couldn't wait to take the truck off-road.

Well technically the tacoma was my dad's for about a year until I didn't have my "learners" permit any more. When I was learning to drive, the tacoma is the only thing my dad would let me drive. At 16 I got my license and the truck was handed down to me.

And this truck definitely has left it's mark. Once i finish college and get a real job, I'm going to start saving for a down payment on a TRD Off-Road one for my self and hope that will be my first car I bought myself.

Dude you are one lucky guy!

My parents didn't give me my truck. I had to sell my old 4runner and buy my tacoma with my own money. Paying monthly for it but I love that car. Worth every penny. Nothing like being 18 year old freshman in college paying for your truck while working part time! Enjoy the taco!
