Toyota's OEM 400 watt power converter

G'day all,

While there's a fair amount of discussions regarding Toyota's OEM power converter along with some very clever mods; however, there does not seem to be much info for replacing the power converter with one a wee bit larger, say 750-1000 watts.

Is this do-able or has Toyota incorporated something to make a power converter swap out more difficult than it should be?

OR, is the easy way out just to add another, larger, power converter and be done with it?

It would be wayyyyy easier to buy a Yamaha 1,000 watt inverter generator for about $700. I used to run one of these to my RV to power the dvd player and flat screens. It would use about a quart of gas a day.
