Front Bumper Repair

While driving // to the Baja 1000 race course, I fell into a farmer's booby trap (approx. 3'widex3' deep w/large rocks in bottom, covered w/brush).
Aside from a big bang, no real damage.
However there is a softball-sized dent in right front bumper right under fog light - though no damage to fog light.
Obviously a higher clearance plate bumper would have been the answer, and may be when I have $$$.
For now though, can you heat up the plastic bumber with a heat gun and push/pull/whatever dents out - or does it have to be replaced?
Thought I'd ask before pulling it off.
Any experience??

ya you should be able to just heat on the inside of the bumper

 

body shops are able to repair the plasic bumper covers so ide say add some heat and see what happens.cant hurt and save ya some time and money
