no i am, but if i have the gate down and by some phenomenon a rock, or anything else, shits up my tailgate or hits my camera, are you gonna fix it for me? and what if i want to be able to pull a trailer while also having my bike in the bed, not gonna do that with the tailgate down. the whole point of this thred was to see if someone had some trick to getting the bike to cram in the bed. thanks for your input though

you guys are missing the point :smack: i just wanted to know if its physically possible to get a bike in the bed of a DCSB and still be able to close the tailgate, i was giving reasons why i would like to be able to shut the gate meaning it was worth a little effort or research to find out if there is a trick to making it fit, that is all.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
even with my access cab long bed, i have to put my Honda CRF230 in sideways to close the gate, unless you ride something smaller than a 125 i don't think it would work unless you somehow secured the front tire to the cab of your truck perhaps.

i am considering the bed extension for my truck, especially when i haul mine and a buddy's bike up to the mountains to ride, that way we can store coolers, gear, and gas cans in the back without having to tie them down, you might consider doing the same. Either way, as long as your bike is properly ratcheted down, it wont fall out even if the gate is down

Question though on your set up for the street bike..... are the straps attatched to the plasitc cleats? and if so how do you trust them, are they strong enough for the job? also hows the tailgate hold up for you? my R6's rear tire will be sitting at about the same spot as yours.

i got cheap straps from wallmart. the bike held on fine. bikes are not that heavy. i even ride my drz bike up the ramp into the bed sometimes if no hill around. need some kind of hill for the street bike or it will rub the bottom. my tailgate is good as new has no damage.

cool ill have to test them cleats out, dunno how much i trust the plastic cleats with my R6. i have herd about a ramp that is long enough and has a curve to it to prevent this without a hill..... also gotta figure out if loading the R6 is possible with a bit of a lift and bigger tires (that i want to get).
