I must say, this reason sucks as my firsts post...

First, I'd like say TW is simply awesome, I've been here awhile looking, learning and wasting good time. I recently bought my '07 Tacoma.. yea, its badass

Secondly, I hit a damn tree!!! I'm not getting into details as to how it happened but I'll say I was irresponsible and probably should be smacked upside the head for it. DRIVE RESPONSIBLY. So, I caused some.. I would say minor damage and wanted opinions. How much to fix? replace the bumper? DIY possible?

Thirdly, My truck. :yay: It's a 2007 Tacoma TRD Sport 4x4 DCSB in Speedway Blue. Picked him up 11/2/11 got what I think was a pretty sweet deal. I say since theres not much demand for 4x4 in FL, idk? Yup, I said him, its a boy! His name is Beast, after the fast, agile, genius character from X-Men. I've done some interior work, like really interior lol.. I've replaced the head unit, speakers, double layered dynamat on all four doors, tinted the windows at 15%, a Tonneau cover among a few other things. This is my DD and project car, I'll be doing a build thread but once I get more meat and potatoes under the hood. Living in central florida don't know of any 4x4 places nearby if anyone knows of anything let me know!!!

Lastly, all you really had to read is where it says "secondly" lol :p

    Thanks!
    B

    Welcome.
It does not look like any brackets are bent, so it should be an easy DIY fix. It depends on what you are willing to spend. Pounding it out if you can carefully do it as to not create creases or dimples is the cheapest. You can also buy a new bumper, have it painted and then install it yourself.
Others here will recommend aftermarket tube or plate bumpers, but I don't think it look good unless you do the whole truck - front bumper, sliders etc.

    - no real rocks in Florida so no need for a rock bumper

    - I thought about living with it for that same reason but I can't... Just got the truck along w/ a car payment. No way I can leave it without getting pissed every time I see it.

I wanna get it fixed. I may try a few body shops for estimates and see if this bumper is fixable rather then replace it

Did something similar on my '05 but it also dented the tailgate:mad:. Found someone that was getting an aftermarket bumper and he sold me his old one for $150.

Welcome from Tampa, Boca Raton. Nice Truck.

Check a few body shops out. I don't suggest doing it yourself as stated, it will leave more creases and possibly look worse. If body shop charges to much, just get a new bumper and have it resprayed.

Your probably looking at around 270.00 for the non painted bumper.
Around 200.00 for paint and labor.
    149.00 for step pad.
