Air filter for desert running

I'm trying to figure out what air filter is best for my 2011 . It's mainly a desert truck and with 3 desert runs and 1500 miles on it the air filter is pretty dirty .

Ever thought about putting a snorkel on it? On my silverado I run a safari snorke, volant air box (sealed) and a pre filter cover over the cone. The snorkel gets the fresh air that is up high. A little dust still gets in but after a sand/desert run I just shake off the prefilter wrap and poof good as new (kind of)

Also be sure to run a dry filter not a wet like k&n the dry filters are easier to shake out. Fram is a good choice they're cheapish and you could just replace them after each run.

I run a K&N drop in dry filter because it's reusable and easy to clean.

I take it out, bang it on the tire a few times, run the air compressor nozzle over it for about four minutes, then put it right back in the truck.

Yes Fram lol. If you want a cheap filter that if it gets ruined you can just buy a new one after you go off roading then yes Fram. I personally don't run them but it's an option just trying to give him options. I gave him the most expensive option and then the cheapest.
