    I'm pretty sure I don't have Traction Control and VSC. I have the 2005 TRD sport. What exactly does Traction Control do?

    :quickdraw:Controls Traction .... :laughing: Sorry, it's hard to resist the easy set.

    Seriously, it uses the brakes and 4WD components to transfer torque from the slipping wheel or wheels to the non-slipping wheel or wheels. That is a simplistic explanation .... kind of like ABS for traction/driving.

    One of the mechanical geniuses around her could explain it more indepth and technically correct. :cool:

    Does that mean the 09 and up are more capable than 05-08?

    I'm out of my expertise here --- mine is a base sr5 ac 4x4/4cy/5spd without the bells and whistles. But I think the ATRAC and "stuff" have been out/available for quite awhile ... can't say exactly since what year, sorry.
