ARB for 2012 Tacomas

I have been thinking I want to get one of these.

 

Im plan on buying a 2012 taco but only if these guys hurry up. Patiently waiting.

 

I hope so man. The wife gave me the ok to buy a new Tacoma but I want to get the ARB to go with it. I wish the ARB on my 09 would fit. Oh well I'll just wait it out I guess.

 

You should sell the 09 ARB to me before the trade.....

This is an email I received the other day from them-

There is not a firm ETA on this front bar yet. 2009 is going to be different. I can tell you the Tacoma's are a high priority with ARB. We are waiting for a prototype/pre-production sample from ARB AU so we can test fit the 2012+ trucks. You certainly can check in with us on a regular basis and we'll keep you updated with any new developments.

That sounds about the same response someone got about 2 months ago?

From the photo's someone posted of their truck with one that was in a head on crash I think I will still wait for one patiently.

 

Ok ARB I hope your listening-hurry up with the new bumper already! I just bought a 2012!!!!!!!

 

I live just down the road from the ARB rep. They used to park a big flat black Jeep (OME and ARB'd to hell, of course) but just got a different rig.......a silver 2012 Tacoma DCSB. It has an ARB front bumper (with winch) on it. I usually see it 2x per day.

I will try to get a pic of it soon.

 

Can't wait to see pics because my truck is silver. God I hope they hurry up.

nope. seen some pretty hard impacts where airbags should have deployed with arb steel and none did. been in 2 instances myself, one of which would have totaled my truck without the bumper, no airbags. but now my clock springs broke so fuck it.

So, I have been planning to buy a bumper for my 2012 for a couple of months now and never once thought about the possibility of airbags not working... so glad you mentioned that! That is a huge selling point for me. What about the bumpers from other vendors... Ive not seen anything on their threads mentioning the air bags would work with their designs. Also, do you think putting a bumper on would void any warranty i have with the truck? other that the bumper itself?

 

unless you manage to crumple your arb, highly unlikely, your airbag won't go off in a frontend impact. the things just don't move. could be a good thing or a bad thing depends on which way you look at it. i love mine and wouldn't trade it for anybody else's bumper. i just wanted to throw my 02. in on the whole arb airbag thing. i feel safer driving that truck down the road with it than i do anything else, airbag or not.
