My antennax showed up yesterday. Looks great and the reception is same as stock, if not a bit better with weaker stations

Stubby antenna from EBay. Reception is fine in the Tampa Bay area, but is noticeably worse in rural areas. I keep the stock one in the back, just in case. I mostly use the satellite radio anyway.

Stock. The OEM antenna provides pretty decent reception and sits much lower than the CB antenna mounted on my bed toolbox (which really hits overhead obstacles). Use a large flashdrive occasionally for my own music. I don't waste money on XM only to hear content I already get on the radio or have on a flashdrive.

You need to manufacture a basic steel antenna that is 5" shorter than stock so that I can give you a positive review as well;)

Shaved mine and placed one from Advanced inside the windsheild. Reception is great but, mostly listen to XM or thumb drive music files.

I haven't read all 7 pages yet, but I bought a stubby antenna from www.cravenspeed.com and am already returning it. I had it on all of one trip to get my haircut and then took it off,put it right back in the box and diled a return. Gonna just cut off about 4-6" of my OME one like I did on my 09 Taco. Still works and looked good

Do the tacomas have weak FM tuners? My Fit had an 8" stick for an antenna (OEM) and I could pull in B93 way up in Ludington with the thing if I was on a hill. That's at least 80 miles by the way the crow flies.

No reason for me to swap out the stock wire yet... though I do like the looks of the antenna-x.

I chopped my stocker today. I was tired of the cheap floppy aftermarket one I had.
