For the sealing washer on the oil pan drain bolt? I would assume so since I pay separate charges for it.

I purchased my Taco thru the CostCo auto program. For filling out their survey, I received a Gift Certificate for $50 off any mechandise at the Toyota dealer. I guess my next ten or so oil filters will be free. Cant beat that. :taco:

Now I need to figure out how to get cheap or free air filters. :bananadance:

I was just confused by people talking about the sealing washer on what I assumed was the filter. I just had not heard of such a thing. A sealing washer for the drain plug makes perfect sense though. Thanks.

Thanks, I picked one of those up a couple of weeks ago. I have not opened it but I do not think it has the safety clip. Is that something you ordered or just picked up at the hardware store?

My dealer matched the $3.xx price i found on the internet. I bought a case of them at the washers for around $40. I won't have to buy filters for the next 5 years.

Now wait a second. I've changed the oil in all of my previous vehicles, so I'm not unfamiliar with the process. However, I've never seen this before. Please excuse my ignorance, but what purpose does this part serve?

Right now I'm getting the oil changed and tires rotated under the ToyotaCare program, and have one free one left.

I'm guessing that this replaces the drain plug to simplify the process and/or eliminate the need for an aluminum crush washer?

if you click the link theres a tutorial video for you. I've used something similar on all my previous vehicles and its always mess free and a huge time saver for me.

The clip is separate but on the website. You should be able to find it.
