Auto to manual

I know it would probally be easier to just buy a new truck. But has anyone converted a auto 2nd gen to a manual?

 

with the resale value of these things i think your right it woudl probably be easier and cheaper to buy a new truck.

 

The truck has a different type of value to me. And i just wanted to see how hard it would be.

 

See if you can find one that wrecked in a pick n pull near you so you can take what you need drivetrain and interioir...

 

Off the top of my head I can think of so many problems I would never consider it. Just a few are, new drive shaft, new trannie, new bell housing, clutch, pressure plate, etc.
Most likely a different console inside so the shifter fits nice, maybe a new computer for the truck as well. Then you need to install a clutch pedal. Just a wild guess but am thinking at least $7,500 in parts alone unless you hit the junk yards. Then you have the hyd assembly to assist the clutch pedal.

I knew one person a LONG time ago (not a Toyota) who converted from auto to manual and it was a super severe headache.

 

oh ok, i understand, ive only done that conversion on hondas, not too hard just a lot of work but if you find a wrecked one to source the parts from it cant be too bad.
