Help refresh what details I need to look for. Looking to get a double cab or crew cab setup at least. Preffer crew. Auto is for sure. Only getting what I want this round though no settling! Must be White, Grey (the dark gunmetal color) or Bright Red. Inside has to be either beige or black no more grey. Rest is open.

Went through a Jeep Wrangler kick... got in bad accident and although it did its job and saved me I ended up going into a pretty cool 2005 Jeep Liberty CRD Limited. 4 Cyl Turbo diesel been fun and its great on fuel but its just not what i want... can't talk myself into keeping and the room is just horribly uncomfortable. Did a bunch of great stuff to it and its in working order but i'll be spending the time to find the tacoma I want now. Then this thing is bye bye.

SO what few things should I be aware of buying a used one. Hoping to keep price under 20K if possible for a 05+ without a billion miles on it.

Right off bat truck's getting a minium lift and some nice all terrains on it w/ new wheels. Then get into personalizing it more as alawys. What few mods do I need to plan on doing right off start as well as recommended lift. Be nice to fit 33x12.5's... what will it need!

Thanks can't wait to be back

Yea realized after words. Ment like the extended can setup or a crew cab.

And 3" looks like what I'll be doing. Feeling the old man emu with the UCAs. 285's seem like the trick on a 17. 33" just a tad narrower. Will look awesome!

So anyone know a good lin kor write up. Found a few around 2006/2007 and they are in the 100K mile marker. Not that its a bad thing but any good things to look for other than frame rust and all?

Any quick tests to check on. Few pointers before I go look at a few.

Check the rear leafs 3 - stock & 4 = TSB leaf pack

Also if you can get it on a lift, see if there is play in the front wheels... = bad wheel bearings...

    I just replaced mine @ 87K

(but I drive through water )

Get a TRD Sport 4x4! They are AWSUM looking! Toyota makes the best looking truck out there! Hands down.

I have 201k on my 05 and runs great! No major issues at all...

I had one 05 Sport though that had frame rust..Be careful with that!

Good Luck on your search! and get what you want!

I agree with Homer - check for the rear leaf spring TSB and play in the wheels which would indicate bad wheel bearings. The rear leafs might not be a concern depending on the type of lift you'd install later anyways. Also, depending on how far north of the city you are, rust could be an issue. My girlfriend and I looked at a 2007 Rav4 with 45k miles and the undercarraige was in horrible condition.

Ok so found a pretty sweet one. Im not one to want something already messed with or outside of stock but it's all I would end up doing anyway and we all know the owner looses when you put money into it and sell the truck. 4 door long bed TRD Sport which I like. Although I didn't plan on the color I like it and looks good. It's bright blue (whatever tech name is) an black trims. Has full cap to match and roof racks in truck and safari rack on the cap. 96k miles I remember. Already has 285 BFs on 16" MT wheels. Comes with stock as well w good tires. He did a 3" fab tech setup which is spacers in front and an add-a-leaf in rear. I can always upgrade to UCA's later down road when I do more work. For now I'm sure it's all we need for a grocery getter. Guy is original owner, came from Texas area to north so has not been here long. Going to look at it today at noon. Had good service history and documented which is nice.

    Hopefully the one!
