Powder coating stock rims

All of the powder coating places around where I live are waaaaaay too expensive. It would be almost the same amount of cash to buy new wheels.

 

Not to mention the cash you can get back for selling the OEM wheels....

I'm thinking about powder coating my 2016 TRD off-road wheels. I really don't like them but I don't see a real "need" to buy new rims when I could use that money towards useful parts. Good idea, bad idea? Can't decide... Thanks

 

If you dont like them, I would not spend any $ on them. From what I see people selling them for on craigslist and here, you should be able to sell them and buy new rims for cheaper than a powder coat job.

 

How much are you guys spending on your powder coating? I'm thinking about going dark greyish blue :]

 

I had a local guy tell me he charged $75.00 per wheel to powder coat my wheels any color I wanted. I think this is high. I would love for them to be gray.

 

I think it's a lot cheaper if you do a bunch of parts at a time. It's pretty easy to get things/people together for black, but specialty colors are more difficult.
