    Hi All,
I in the market for a new steering rack and Im wondering if the steering racks differ between:

    - 5 lug vs 6 lug
    - 6 lug prerunner vs 6 lug 4x4
    - V6 vs I4

    I am V6 4x4, can I use a Prerunner steering rack?

I found these on ebay, can anyone confirm if any will work on my truck? Thanks!

You should be able to use a steering rack from a pre-runner on your 4x. As long as it's a steering rack from a 2nd gen V6 tacoma you should be ok.

King 10" coilovers w/ resi. 3.5" over long travel kit. Factory spindles w/ ALLPRO gussets. Total Chaos tower gussets. Energy Poly cab mounts and steering rack mounts. Glassworks fenders and bedsides. Home fabbed bed cage. King 2.5x16 bypass shocks in the rear. DMZ long travel rear end. Race radio (2meter). Removed secondary carbon air filter. Exhaust dumped before the axle / no muffler. Phram fresh air cabin filter. K&N replacement filter, After market stereo, Grillcraft grill, custom fabled roof rack with 7" HID's, PRP race seats.
Drop the coin for a remanufactured cardon rack from O'reillys or Autozone and have the peace of knowing it comes with a lifetime warrantee. That's what I have in my taco.

In case you didn't notice, the first link is a steering column.

Do yourself a favor and follow the above advice. I'm about to install my third rack at 110K if I ever get the truck back from my dealer (failed motor mount). I wouldn't buy another NEW OEM rack - AND certainly wouldn't buy one pulled from a wreck with 60,000+ miles...
