    be careful

the real N-fabs are American made and available in 2"or 3" main tube...

the Smitybuilt are imported (China I believe) and have seen a post here where the black "powder coat" is peeling off on a fairly new set.

I considered the N-fab style, but feel they look best on a lifted truck. I ended up buying and installing these OEM tube steps:
very happy with them so far

The Smitybuilt and N-Fab steps are one in the same. Smitybuilt is selling the N-Fab steps (or vice versa). Mine, purchased from Smitybuilt, came with "N-Fab" stamped into the bars. The same steps, purchased by a neighbor from N-Fab, didn't come with the "N-Fab" stamp. Still another set, purchased by a friend from N-Fab, did have that stamp. No logic or reason behind the "N-Fab" stamp, but we couldn't find any difference whatsoever in the steps themselves.

I used to have N-fabs on my old F250 w/ a 9" lift and the only thing i disliked about them was that when they were wet they were extremely slippery. They had the little groove holes in them but that offered no grip with wet shoes. This made it dangerous for my wife getting in and out of my truck so i ended up switching to AMP's.

    no disrespect...but...

N-fab clearly states "made in USA" on their website and on sub vendor sale websites.

I can find no mention of made in USA, or any other country on Smittybuilt N-fab style step bars. on Smitty's site or vendor sites.
