After looking for a 2006-2009 TRD Quad Cab for almost a year, I found a 2006 at a local dealer that had been traded in last summer. The truck has 135K on it (84000 miles) and they are asking $22,800 (plus taxes) - down from the original asking price of $24,000.

I have a couple of reservations, first, after having owned two Tacos (1989 & 1998) I'm unfamiliar with the 2nd Gen and as such, wonder if this is "A" - a reasonable deal and "B" too many KMs (miles) on a truck I hope to have for at least 10 years. I just sold my 1998 with 220,000 KM (137,000 miles) and while it looked amazing, I was continually dealing with "little isssues" (I'm obsessive about maintaining my vehicles).

Ultimately, I'm wondering if this truck with the current number of KMs is worth the money and whether or not the 2nd Gen trucks are built to be in overall better shape when they get to 220,000 and beyond?

    Many thanks - great forum!

welcome Rusty from another rusty:wave: there is a guy with a 07 on here with 205000 on his and still going strong.. I have 72000 on mine with no problems.. The KBB on mine is 22,000 so it seems reasonable

some people have bought brand new trucks for just a tad over 26k with full warranty and 0 miles on them, some food for thought

Thanks for the info, but I've been looking hard for over a year and the best deal I've found on a "new or near new" quad cab TRD has wasn a 2010 with 29,000 KM for $31,000. There just don't seem to be many deals on these trucks in Canada.

Any idea where these people have bought their trucks fr 26K, it would definitely be worth a drive to the US if there were considerable savings to be had.

Simply posting prices without mentioning equipment/options is not helpful. Was it 4WD? Doubt it. Was it a TRD? Doubt it. Trade-ins also matter. For example, if they stand to make $5k from your trade in, they'll be very willing to deal on the new truck. Be more specific before you mess up this dude's search.

I paid right around 29 before TTL and I got a decent deal from what I can tell. My truck:

    2011 DCSB, MGM
    4x4
    TRD O/R (non JBL)
Skids, bug guard, floor mats, other small junk

Your absolutely right, I was too lazy to search through 100's of posts to copy/paste all the specs and info into this thread.

OP take what I said with a grain of salt because I did not look into every aspect of the quad cab trd spec you posted.

I think we can all agree the canadian market is very different, but I know in Florida you can get a brand new double cab SR5 for lil over 26K otd, and a TRD sport or offroad (should be round the same, non JBL) for a lil over 27K otd, those prices are for 2wd

This is why I ended up just buying a new truck. These trucks just hold their value with 'high' mileage. I was looking to spend around $25k but couldn't find anything with low mileage. I ended up just spending an extra $4k and getting a brand new 2011 trd off road 4WD for $29k.
