First time I put a battery in the bed and tried to drive off I realized really fast that was not a good idea. It was like ice on ice. First stop that sucker slammed in the bed.

Hey, it's not a Fisher Price product. The Tacoma's bed is clearly made by Tonka Toy, that company currently owned by Hasbro. ;)

 For the truck or what was in the earlier picture?

Just trying to keep things straight in my mind.

Yeah, I'm sure you're correct. If it was made by FP it would probably be bright orange!

I do like the slipperiness of it when it comes to loading and unloading with a cap, but I'm probably going to pick up a mat as well as others have done just so I don't have to constantly strap EVERYTHING to keep it still while driving.

The Saturn was all composite/plastic , i often wondered why that never caught on, for us here in the rust belt plastic/composite is the answer !!!!

Because metal dents, plastic cracks. It's a trade off, plus manufacturing processes are completely different. Stamped metal is cheap and easy.

Me:"Give me the cheapest 4x4 with a long bed and a stick."

Salesman: "They don't make manual transmissions anymore"

    Me: "Bye"

Then he decided to check other dealers, and found me one a couple days away.
I didn't know about the composite bed until he told me the day I bought the truck. I have mixed feelings about it, but if it's pretty tough, and never cracks or breaks, and I know it can't rust, I'll be happy with it for the next 20 years lol

There are so many people out there with older Toyota pre-tacoma pickups driving around with either flat beds or no beds because there bed rusted away and cant be easily replaced. They would love to have had composite beds. We will never have that problem. I am thankful for these beds.
