I was wondering if anyone had tried to put in or test a 2012 rearview mirror (with the backup cam, homelink, temperature and compass dispay in it) in a 2005-2011 truck to see if it worked.

i would imagine that it "fits", but i'm 100% sure the wiring won't match up.

Wiring might match up to an '09 or newer.

not when it displays compass and temp reading that were previously in a seperate wiring harness in the upper console.

    It's the wife's T4R so it's stock
I have a 12 mirror in my 09. Everything works like stock except for:

    1. The Homelink isn't powered
    2. There is no temperature input to display.

I'm not worried about temp since it's on my overhead. I have a plan to power the homelink... will do a write up when I get it right.

You could pretty easily splice into your stock wiring and run it to your rearview

ahh, you guys proved me wrong with the compass, but obviously to get the homelink and temp to work, modding will need to be done. definitely not a direct hook up.

Homelink should be a single wire for constant power - I'm not going to do temp though

Do you mind me asking how much you paid for the mirror? Do you have a Toyota part number? Thanks.

I am more interested in the Homelink and isn't the backup screen bigger?

I just installed the 2012 mirror, I'm trying to locate where I can tap in for the temp sensor on my 2010 reg cab. I don't have the overhead temp display. I do have the sensor, I just need to take the headliner down and find it then determine which pins in the mirror are utilized. Does anyone have the pinout for the 2012 mirror?

Doesn't look like that mirror has a bluetooth mic on it so I guess that pretty much rules me out of using it on my '11

Go with the OnStar FMV. I just got mine installed last weekend and I absolutely love it. Handsfree calling works perfectly via bluetooth with my iPhone. No regrets! And the mirror looks pretty cool too.

I'm still trying to find where I can pull the yellow temp wire from in my regular cab 2010 truck. My tis subscription ran out does anyone have the wiring diagram?. Also does anyone know what the trim part number is for the part that covers the wire running down from the headliner to the mirror?
