Rotor replacement

I'm ready to replace my rotors up front but can't figure out the caliper setup. On every other vehicle I've worked on, there is a flex hose to the caliper which allows you to unbolt the caliper and suspend it out of the way. On the 2nd gens, however, there is a hardline going to the caliper. Can someone who has removed their calipers tell me how to do this without opening the system to air?

 

My '06 4x4 Taco has rubber, flexibke hoses to the caliper.... I changed the pads last year and had no problem just moving the caliper aside and hanging it with a wire...

I'm not sure, but I doubt you have hard lines......OH..!!!! I think I just remembered..... there is a short hard line to the caliper; however, that line in short and connects to a flesible one on the inside of the rotor.... you just remove the clamp holding the junction and let them hang (on a wire, of course)...

I think that's the way it was.......

No sweat man... Hope you have fun changing them out.... When doing it, make sure you remove, clean and lubricate those pins that hold the pads on.... they get rusty and will cause premature wear on yer pads...
