    What kind of price are we looking at? I just need the bar that fits under the cab, not the second bar that sticks out 6"-10". Also, is it possible to weld on two small steps about 4" deep and 8" for the driver side and passenger side?

    If you're going to use your sliders as sliders, why would you weld steps on? Get the bolt-on steps from Beefed.

    The slider I basically want just for protection underneath in case I hit a rock which might be once a year if that. I don't really wheel much, just looking for a little protection when I do. The step is for my height challenged girlfriend. I've seen some of the aftermarket steps, and they stick out way too far. I'm just looking for a small step that barely sticks out from the slider so she can get a foot on it yet won't be in way wheeling. Do you use square stock as the slider?

    Newbie question of the day. I was wondering how come that some of the sliders are coming out straight of the truck and others go up on an angle?

    Just different models/applications/preference.

    The flatter the orientation, the more step-like but also makes your truck wider.

    Angled provides protection higher up the rocker panel, but also becomes worthless as a step and maybe even becomes a shin knocker.

    Angling up also gives a bit of extra clearance, a cleaner look(imo) and adds a little bit of strength due to the extra dimension of the structure.

    A welded on step will hang you up if you ever use it for actual slider purposes. The bolt-on step is a much better application...can be removed for wheeling.

    Depends. If the toob is tucked close to the body it maximizes clearance but also gives inward-tilted obstacles a better chance of ravaging your sheetmetal.

    Different models all have different degrees of tilt and width. I like a moderate amount of both, but not too little or much of either.

    Think about a rock sticking out of the ground but slanting inward toward your truck. Commonly, the inner-most point of the rock is above slider level and will impact your door before the slider catches the base of the rock, which is further away.
