Tacoma Tonneau Cover to Add 6" Inches in Height to Bed

According to the brochure, the bed in the Taco is 18 inches deep (vertically). Haven't had a chance to measure one yet. If someone can, I'd appreciate it.

Thing is, I need to carry drums in it WITH a locking tonneau cover, NOT a camper top. One of the drums is 24" tall no matter how you position it. That leaves me with a bed height 6 inches too short. So... My question is this, I'm aware there are hard-shell locking tonneau covers that add a little bit of clearance. Is there anything out there that'll add at least 6 inches in height to the bed?

Please be aware, I DON't want a camper top. Thanks for any info. -Danny

 

If you dont want a camper there is def not anything 6'' above the side. Id buy some 2x6's and make a cover that sits above it. The 2x6's would sit on the side and id screw plywood to the top, making a frame. It can be the whole length of the bed or the diameter of the drums. You might be able to get a metal container too that the drums can sit in.

Both good points, but I'm liking the idea of the frame more than the bass drum in the cab... The drum in the cab defeats the purpose of the truck, cause I can fit drums in my Scion XB just fine... if I eliminate a couple of passengers.
