FWIW ... One some items (not saying this one) Toyota will change a part number on the exact same part ... they do this sometimes with a model change.

Bought mt 13 wit a bed extender. Took three week to get down to have it installed.

When I bought the truck the salesman showed me a picture of the extender....it was the squared style. A few days after the purchase the sales manger called asking me about filling out the survey from the purchase. I told him I would fill it out after my extender was installed, and told him I wanted to make sure it was the u shape on. He said to go to the dealer website and look at the the accessories, it would be whatever was shown there. I checked the site and it was the same u style the salesman had printed out for me.

Well....finally went in to get it installed. 6 1/2 hours later they brought the truck out....with the v style. After 6 hours and it being closing time I went in the service area an told the first person i saw it was wrong. He copied my paperwork, said he work get me the right one and I left. That was 10 days ago......guess well see what happens. Guess I either get the right one or my money back.

I just hope the mounting bracket is the same for both styles.

Got the Amp Research HD Max in Black. They make the OEM and uses the same mounting brackets as the OEM with the corners cut off. Installed it without repositioning the brackets. Now I'm finally back to the equivalent of my old '05.

My OEM one is for sale in the B/S/T section:

The new bed extender from Toyota is useless. On my 03, the bed extender would accommodate my cooler and groceries when going food shopping. The cooler doesn't fit with the groceries on my 13.
Amp Research has 2 different models for with and without tonneau cover with 2 different prices. What difference does a tonneau cover make? It doesn't matter with the Toyota bed extenders.

Note- they are both made by Amp Research, the shape of the OEM with the corners cut off is worthless IMO.

Weathertech floor liners moded to hold OEM floor mats, weathertech vent visors, Toyota bed mat, LEER 100XL cap, hood gasket mod to stop whistling.
Wow.... that new design is almost useless, what were they thinking?

I have one that I only used twice on my 2006, I installed it on my 2013 and used it once, now it's removed and ready, maybe, to be installed on my 2014. I haven't made up my mind if I'll even bother. Its one of those things that is great when you need it, but you trip over it the other 364 days of the year.

I may be putting it up for sale, that and my brand new still have the tags on them TRD floor mats for 2006, when they were actually really good floor mats.

That looks great. I switched to the old version (mounting brackets the same) a long time ago, otherwise that would be all over that.
