I have been think about taking my truck in to see what the dealer would give me for a trade in on her (I am just curious and haven't made up on mind on anything yet). I would take most of the mods out and put everything back to stock, but I wanted to know if dealers tends to look down on blacked out rims? Does anyone have any experience?

I know that I could probably get more selling on my own but I always like to see all the options.

    Thanks

As long as they are in good condition, it should not affect the value. Heavily worn tires affect it more.

Btw, even though you said you know this. You have a 08 Tacoma, and Tacos sell very well. Putting it up on the classified will probably get you a couple K more. It will take longer of course, but you never know if you can sell it in a day.

I sold my first Taco in 1 day for my asking price years ago.

I would think if you have the parts, put as much original stuff back on it as you can. The rims shouldn't be an issue, if they are nice and go with the truck, the dealer will use the rims in their price, but probably won't give you more for them unless you work em.
