I am in the middle of a trade right now for my 2008... It was easy once I thought about what I would be using the truck for and overall reliability.

    Good luck

Lift it! My '05 has 56K miles on it, is paid off...I've put about $4k in it over the past year or so including intake, exhaust, suspension lift, tires, and wheels...and it is still paid for!!!

'09? Its practically new. Unless your obsessed with the new truck smell, its basically the same truck and you would lose $$ on the trade in.

    Lift that SOB!!!!!

Depends on the dealer. I only traded up because I got them to throw in wheels and tires and I liked that they fixed all the little stuff inside that I didn't like before, then again I'm biased on this decision because I'm not Hawaiian and don't like 6" lifts haha but I'd say at least scope it out and see if you get get some cool junk worked into the deal, if not, walk and be happy you've got a sick taco already :)

I say it depends on what you do with the truck. Do you wheel it? Then lift yours. Do you want it for a "mall crawler"? Then trade it. But imho, you have the 09 paid off so I would absolutely keep it and lift it. Unless you've already drove the wheels off of it. I mean it's a Toyota, how many miles do you have on it? If I had mine paid off and it's only 3 years old, I'd be stoked! :headbang: Of course with that said, I am curious/anxious to see the next model. Will it have more power and better mpgs? With the way technology is going I keep expecting a big change to improve the mpg's on these trucks.

Well, new to the forum, but by no means new to trucks and offloading. If you wheel, go ahead and lift and tire it. If you don't wheel, then a lift and tires are a waste of money. I never understood these big a$$ lifted trucks that never leave the pavement..
I have done my time wrenching on vehicles and I like to keep them fairly new. With the trade I just got, I drove my FJ Cruiser for 36 months for a total of $5500. That equates to $152 per month. Pretty cheap to own a new vehicle.

So, trade if you don't wheel... Lift and SC if you do. IMHO

I voted to trade. Why, because that is what I intend to do in a month or so. My '06 has been great, and it's paid for. BUT, I am going to get a 6 speed OR instead of the Auto SR5. That's my reasoning. Of course everyone has to decide for themselves...
