Front End Clicking sound.

Hi guys. I have recently noticed that when I coast, I get a weird clicking sound that seems to be from the front end. It starts when I am either coasting really slowly to a stop, or when I apply the breaks. From the info I have read on here, it seems like it could possibly be the wheel bearing. I jacked up the truck and shook both front tires but the dont seem to have any play but when I spin the tires, I can hear a really slight noise that resembles the clicking, but im not sure if Im being overly particular. I dont have any kind of locking hubs either. Just bilstein 5100s, camburg ucas, KMC enduros and 285s. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

sounds like the shaft issue - there is a thread about it somewhere on here.

Drive shaft? Could be possibly. I havent gotten the carrier bearing drop from beefed tacos yet from the lift but it never made a clicking noise. Just an occasional groan sometimes. Its just it sounds like it comming more from the front.

It could be the fit kit in the brake calipers shifting. They might need a clean and lube.

It is the little pins that the brake pads sit on. There is also a little bracket that looks like a "Shepards cane" I suppose. What year is your truck?

NM its a 2005. It sounds like its coming from the front? You could also get a grease gun and hit the slip yokes/u- joints on the front and rear drive shafts too. Unless you JUST hear it when you hit the brakes.

Well I hear it when Im comming to a stop (coasting) but it is definatley more prominate when I hit the brakes. Ill try out the grease gun.

If it happens when you brake, it is more likley the pads shifting in the caliper. However, the grease gun is a good idea anyways.

See the pic taken from badguybusters how to.- Its the pin going across the pads- I would use a brake caliper lube on them.

Oh ok I see. Ya I changed the breaks myself and I was very liberal with the anti friction past that I put on the back of the pads. It could very well be that clip because the clicking sounds slightly metallic as if it were a clip.

Its also important to apply the lube to the pin itself, so when the pads shift it doesn't make noise.

Just to describe the sound better, it sounds sort of metallic and it happens every time the wheel makes a full rotation.

I have a similar clicking when I put the breaks on at low speeds, and coasting. I'm dead certain it's coming from the front left wheel, inclined to think it's the pin aforementioned. I'm interested to see where this goes. Sub'd

Bearings aren't that hard to replace if you get the ones that bolt on instead of being pressed in. I kind of hope it is my bearings because everyone I've talked to that has gotten their bearings changed said it drove so much better/smoother and their steering felt better.

Well I would assume a bearing is covered under warranty? If isn't the clip I'll have Toyota take a gander.
