Toyota 90915-YZZD3 oil filter, is there a longer version?

    I've searched around, not having any luck, hopefully someone can help me out. My 07 Taco 4.0LV6 calls for the Toyota OEM
    $54 90915-YZZD3 Oil Filter 1 Case (QTY 10)
    90915-YZZD3 oil filter. What I'm looking for is an equivalent Toyota OEM oil filter that will fit (threads, diameter), but is longer. For example, the Fram PH3600 is a longer version of the 3614. I'm looking for the Toyota part# for a longer Toyota filter.

    This maybe a dumb question, but why? And as far as I know I don't think toyota makes anything "longer" that fits the Tacoma.

    As long as you change the oil when recomended, than there is no reason to switch up filter size.

    OME 881, Nitrochargers front and rear, diff drop, Wheelers 3 Leaf AAL, Supertop, shitty brush guard and a hole in the muffler
    I'm pretty sure the d3 is the longest one. There is one shorter that is the replacement for the 3.4 but a lot of people including myself use the D3 because of the extra volume. But im pretty sure that's it.

    And honestly the effects of that extra half inch are probably minimal. But I understand your interest.

    could have sworn is was a filter used on a "Tundra", but hopefully someone will know. I'm pretty sure, if the Toyota filter exists, it provides more than just a 1/2"

    Toyota designed your engine oil system with that filter. If they felt like the filter should be longer/shorter, there is plenty of room to do so. Stick with the D3.

    Napa 1516 should be what you're looking for.

    Maybe people who have used it can chime in.

    On previous vehicles I've been a big fan of longer/larger capacity filters....and don't buy in to the hypothesis of "stick with OE because if you needed longer they'd use it".
