Paint Matching on a Chrome Grill

Good Day TW,

So I know they'res a good write-up some where on this site about how to do a decent color matching process on a grill but I can't seem to find it, anyone with a link/experience/tips help a guy out?

Also, those of you that did do a color match in your garage/driveway, how did it turn out? I have a black truck so if the job looks even average at best, it'll bug me.

Take it to a body shop they charged me $100 to get the chrome grill painted black

 

I was thinking about doing that as well. If I couldn't get a good enough job done in my garage, i was just going to take it to a shop.

 

I painted mine myself after getting a quote from a shop wanting over $150 to color match it.

The results were pretty decent. The silver matched up good.

I ended up dropping the grill a few months after I painted it which caused a few paint chips. Kind of wish I just bought a silver grill in the first place.
