Painted Rocker Panels

This past weekend I painted my rocker panels. I am going for a white/black theme for the truck, and thought this would be a good addition, as well as some added protection. I used Rustoleum Truck Bed Liner (from Lowe's or Home Depot) and hit the sliders while I was at it. It has a nice subtle texture to it as well. Should I do from the rear to the bumper too? (but nothing on the bumper) What do you guys think?

yeah, and remove the overspray which you cant see in the pic. BTW do you guys usually mask off the badges and paint, or remove them fully then paint them?

Take em off and use painters tape before to realign. It was easy. I used matte black. I also did my rear bumper and my grille surround with rustoleum bed Liner and its perfect.

 

Looks good! You should do the rocker panels on the back part of the bed as well

Don't think im gonna do the actual bumper, I like my color-matched. But yeah, I spent more time prepping and getting the lines right than it actually took for it to paint and even dry!

Good job! looks nice, I just used the same product on the inside pieces of the center console, dash, window switchs, knobs, etc... lol Damn nearly my whole interior.

 

How well does that liner coating wash up once it gets dirt thrown onto it?

 

Nice work OP. I might be doing the same thing in the near future...Looks SO awesome imo.

I used the duplicolor liner for my "evo mod" and it cleans up just fine. Run thru a car wash got 95% of everything off and a little work with a brush got the rest.

 

I want to do the Camo at the bottom, but it's rather expensixe... I have a friend who has a Vinyl shop in FL, when on vacation he gave me some black, maybe once spring hit's I will try it on & see. I'm going to do "eyelids" with it too!

Dirt doesnt't like to rub off of it when dry, I can tell you that, because of the rougher texture. We got some light rain here this morning, so they got pretty muddy on the ride into work. I think it'll be interesting to see how it will hold up to a high-pressure wash at the car wash. Beautiful day to go to the carwash, so I think I will try it out and let you guys know how it turns out.
I may get around to a step by step post w pictures when I do the rear section.

 

Went to the car wash this past weekend, the kind with the spinning brushes. The truck bed coating held up great, with no signs of chipping or peeling. On another note, how does plastidipped badges hold up in the automatic carwashes?
