Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
My 2011 AC scored 5 star side, frontal, 4 star rear and rollover, overall I think it is pretty damn safe! Considering everything prior to my Tacoma was made before 1980 and didnt have air bags. Compact trucks have always had a hard time with safety ratings, but the Tacoma is one of the safest you can buy, the GM Colorado's and Canyon's are terrible, they scored a "poor" rating in the IIHS crash tests, the Tacoma scored a "good" which is the highest. But I think prior to 09 that might of been different, am not for certain. Either way, I hope to never have to worry about those airbags popping out, I hear they tend to sting a bit!
