Looking for a new head unit to replace the factory stock. The double-dins I like mostly have Sirius adapters/modules and not XMs. Can I use my existing XM antenna wire and hook it to a Sirius modeule?

Typically, the Head Unit is going to have a proprietary cable or additional box/adapter for XM and Sirius. Normally, the two are not interchangeable.

I don't think so. A better place would be the Audio section of the forum, someone who doesn't frequent this section might have an answer.

My wife and I had XM before we bought her Highlander. The Highlander had a sirius adapter in it, so we had to switch over to sirius. We called XM to see if it would work and they said no, which really sucks cause I like the XM programing better.

They did buy them out but they don't go together. Our monthly bill comes seprate. I get my XM bill, and she gets her Sirius bill.

I'll repost this in the AV section. My question was to whether or not there is a difference in the XM and Sirius satellite signal so that one one antenna couldn't pick up the other. I'm sure there are connector adapters and I think I'm allowed to switch my subscription over from one to the other if necessary.

Thanks to all for your thoughts.
