It doesnt stop unless its fully together. If i take the gear part out the screw will turn all day. But i think it has something to do with the timing and when the part on the bottom if the big gear that has two cutouts in it. When the cutout reaches one of the contacts i think thats what makes it stop rotating now all i gotta do is make it so it doesnt get that far i guess

OK so I just read every post on here and my problem has not been solved. :frusty:

1st - I removed the motor assembly and it was frozen. I completely disassembled and rebuilt it, greasing all the correct spots with the appropriate grease.

2nd - Tested the motor and it operates off the switch and the gear turns.

3rd - I reinstalled the motor, but the locker still does not engage. Tried slow shallow turns but still nothing. I can hear the motor turning until it hits its limits and stops.

When I reassembled the motor, it seems that there is a lot of play in the gear. I'm not sure how far it needs to move, but I don't feel its moving far enough. Is there a process for "loading" the spring that I missed that would in-turn spin the gear for the entire range?:notsure:

The large gear feel out while I was cleaning another part so I'm rather at a loss here.

when you put the large gear back inside the case make sure the piece that is attached to the gear (the one that slides over the small shaft above the gear) sits in the middle of the cresent moon shaped ridge on the case cover. theres a couple pictures to show the pieces im talking about below. Now im not sure on this next part becuase everything i read said that the motor should be pulled and reinstalled with the diff locked however i could not get it to function properly when i did that. so finally i tried it with everything unlocked and when i reinstalled it it took a couple presses of the button and spins of the back tires to get it in the right cycle but it worked...and its been working since then so i called it good. maybe give that a shot?

Looking into it a bit further, I had the "tang" on the large gear outside of the sping mechanism. A quick shift and performed the correct method for indexing the gears.

She works great! Thanks for everyone's help. Gave me a good excuse to work on the truck and share a few beers with my buddies.

Hey guys, haven't been able to get my locker to engage since the fall. It blinks wont engage, tried lifting the rear and turning one wheel but no luck. Took it off the diff and hitting the button i can see the gear turn, so I assume it's still working properly. Any ideas?
