I already had the updated shocks so they did not change those. Now the only issue I have is how low my front sits. Need to order some 5100's to lift the front. I should just replace all 4 shocks with 5100's I would imagine.

i'm in the same boat. My rear sits way higher than the front after the TSB. My kids think it looks cool, but it bugs the crap out of me. guess I'm gonna spring for some 5100s, as well.

as I understand it...the Tacoma comes w/ the 4 leaf pack in most of the rest of the world. where the Tacoma is purchased for truck duty not car/SUV duty.

most Americans who buy the Tacoma are buying an SUV with an open bed. so I guess Toyota feels the market wants a softer ride in lieu of more hauling capability.

I agree. had the rear TSB performed in Sept. 2010, shortly after the purchase of my truck new.

then, I bought a set of four 5100's...with raising the front in mind...the 5100's are still in my garage in a box.

at this point, I'm gonna wait a little longer and have them installed w/ new tires.

I guess I got used to the rear being a little higher. It was about 1.5" higher at 1st...now about an inch.

I had the 4 pack leafs installed today on my '12TRDOR. Definately stiffened up the rear and raised it noticably.
Next mntn trip we'll see how it performs....

Follow my posts on the issue in this thread. But in a nutshell, the service mngr agreed with my assessment, passed it on to the field rep and it happened...

    find a new dealer

and/or...get in touch w/ Toyota...make your claim, and get a "case number".

Toyota will ask you which dealer you would like to have service your truck...the nice lady on the other end of the line will then email your case to the service manager.

then contact the service mgr. who will have the parts waiting for you in a short time, and can then schedule you in for the service.

I did this after dealer A acted like I was fecal matter on his shoe. Dealer B handled it like I was a customer who dropped 30 large on a truck.

Thats what I did, i wrote a complaint to toyota talking about when I left the dealer I felt like I should have bought a dodge. An hour later I had a call from the dealer telling me they ordered the parts :)

anyone else's leaf pack raise the back end of the truck 3 inches? I know have a 3 inch difference from the rear and front. +- a quarter of an inch depending on how I measured it. I guess now its time to research the lift forums to see how much its going to cost to raise the front so its level.

I thought I was crazy at first so I measured 3 different ways. Top of tire to bottom on fender, bottom of fender to ground, bottom of fender to center of wheel cap, all measurements give me 3 inch difference with the back sitting higher. So in other words while the back may not have lifted 3 inches the front is now sitting 3 inches lower. You seem to know a lot about suspension and lifts, can I keep the stock coils and just put bilsteins on the front to raise it so its level? Or would that make the ride quality shitty because the setting required for the shocks?

The truck comes with 1 1/2 - 2 " of rake stock , so adding the TSB , especially before it has settled could easily put you at 3" of rake

Having the TSB leafs put in raised the back of mine by about an inch or so. I measured 35" from the peak of the fender over the wheel to the ground. After the leaf replacement, it measured 36".

Ok I messed up and Did not measure first. My truck has an undercover tonneau cover that dropped the back down just enough when it was stock so it looked level. I just need to make a decision to order coils with my shocks and If I do should I get new uca's. Decisions decisions.
